Lo tau lagu “Wonderwall” by Oasis? Itu kayanya bener-bener lagu yang paling sering dibawain sama band café-café tempat gue nongkrong sama temen-temen gue. Sampai-sampai ada seorang temen gue bilang kalo lagu ini adalah salah satu lagu yang paling dihapal orang-orang.

Terus ni baru aja gue nonton video di Youtube Channel gue, ada cewe yang bikin cover version lagu ini dengan gaya yang beda banget. Lewat deh si artis cover itu, siapa sih namanya?! Emmm … Boyce Avenue dan Tyler ward, *kalo ga salah.

Nama cewe ini Tristan Prettyman, singer dan songwriter asal California. Gue sih ga terlalu kenal sama ni artis, Cuma suka aja sama gaya musiknya setelah nonton video tadi. Kata dia nih, lagu “Wonderwall” ini bener-bener menginsperasi gaya musiknya sekarang.

“I used to watch music video in the morning befor I went to school, and I could catch this music video, and then I hand three minutes to run across the street and make the bus,” kata Prettyman sambil ketawa pas di interview billboard magazine. “Every morning, I feel like would have a moment where this song would come on and it mesmerize me every time. I’ve loved this song ever since and I’ve loved Oasis ever since.”

Nah, karena dia jarang bikin cover version, jadi untuk bikin cover version “Wonderwall” ini dia bener-bener serius ngeluangin waktunya. “I tried to kind of grab a little bit from Oasis’ original version and also Ryan Adam’ version, which is a little bit darker and a little more moody.”

“I love that line in the chorus that says ’Maybe you’re gonna be the one that saves me.’ I’ve been in so many moments where I’ve thought that – you like someone and they don’t like you and you wish that they would just overnight wake up and save you and come to your rescue and change their mind.”
